ON THE MOON

Cie. Youkali (CH)

Shrouded in legend, the moon has so far belonged only to dreamers—and to itself. But what if humans land on the moon again, if it is conquered and permanently inhabited—will humans own the moon in the future?

Three performers and a musician embark on a visually rich journey into space, exploring unusual utopian visions of the future that blur the lines between fact and fantasy. Using the moon as an example, they raise questions about ownership and territorial claims and reflect on how humans interact with their environment.

ON THE MOON is a play by Youkali Company For young audiences: This project combines the performing arts with scientific content. Through an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates aerial acrobatics, dance, physical theater, and live sound, complex questions are explored in a physical, playful, and interactive way.

School performances

School matinees of *ON THE MOON* will take place on October 26 and 27 at 10:00 a.m. Reservations for the school matinees can be made directly through Schule+Kultur. and school culture.

Sandscapes

Ueli Hirzel (CH)

A hand-drawn, ephemeral performance about the nature of miracles, circles, and time

A black circle. A pendulum traces a delicate spiral in white sand. Movement creates patterns, and the patterns become images. The images intertwine, one layering over another: disappearance and emergence. The circle echoes the circus ring, where danger and vulnerability are real. Nothing can be hidden. Everything is there.

Dark Glowing

Laurence Felber, Silvan Strübel, Caroline Schenk (CH)

Dark Glowing is both a concert and a trapeze performance. On stage: Silvan Strübel and Laurence Felber, featuring vocals, trapeze, electric guitar, electric bass, and drums.

Dark Glowing is like a boxing match that keeps repeating itself. Four rounds that tell of tears, grief, fear, and anger—of the darkness—but also of courage, trust, getting back up, the joy of playing, rays of hope, solidarity, and carrying on.

weat versus glamorous costumes, melodic refrains versus voices left breathless, a sense of unease versus euphoria. A dark pull and an acoustic celebration. A powerful, deeply moving piece.
